2nd Graders Explore Nature's Patterns! 🌿🌳 Today, 2nd-grade went on an exciting outdoor adventure to discover the hidden patterns in nature! They explored the textures and designs found in tree bark, and everyone had a chance to create their tree bark rubbings. It was amazing to see how each tree has its own unique pattern, from smooth lines to rough, craggy surfaces. The little nature explorers learned how to use crayons and paper to capture the details of the bark and share their findings with the class. It was a fun, hands-on way to connect with the environment and learn about the beauty of nature’s designs! What a great way to get outside to enjoy the beautiful weather!

Yesterday's SC Turkey Trot was an AMAZING success! Huge congratulations to our winners: 1st Place: Awesome Mom-Daughter Duo! 2nd Place: Dynamic Son-Mom Team! Your energy and teamwork impressed everyone! And what a wonderful afternoon! Families enjoyed delicious pumpkin pie and refreshing apple cider, making memories that will last a lifetime! While parents attended the Site Council meeting, our Cheetahs had a blast with the cloud dough activity! Thank you to all participants, volunteers, and staff for making this event truly special!

Cheetah Spotlight!! A huge shoutout to our amazing Kindergarten Teacher Mrs. Maritnez, Instructional Coach, Ms. Boswell, and our principal Mrs. Renteria, who recently attended and presented at the Aurora Institute Symposium in New Orleans! Their session, "The Art of Letting Go: Utilizing Learning Menus Alongside Flexible Scheduling," was an incredible representation of how we are reimagining learning in our school district. They shared innovative strategies that empower students to take charge of their own learning with personalized, flexible approaches. A big thank you to these three for leading the way and sharing your expertise with the wider education community! We are so proud of how you continue to push the boundaries of traditional education and inspire others to think outside the box. Your dedication to empowering our students and advancing learning is truly inspiring

A huge THANK YOU to all the families who attended last week's Trunk or Treat event! It was amazing to see our Cheetah community come together to create such a fun and festive atmosphere for our students. Your participation truly made the event special, and we couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate the season! A special shoutout to our incredible Parent Booster Club for providing delicious concessions and keeping everyone fueled up! And a big thank you to the Tubac Fire Department for joining us and bringing an ambulance to show the kids—what a highlight of the event! We loved seeing all the creative costumes and the smiles on the kids’ faces. Thank you all for helping make this event a success and for supporting our school in such a fun way!

coin War Oct. 21- Nov .8 Rio RIco Rotary declares a Calling all cheetahs!!!! Families send in your pennies, dimes, nickles, quarters and dollars! Each class will be collecting and counting donations! Proceeds will be added togehter with the other schools in the district to purchase gift certificates from Garret’s IGA for families to use for their thanksgiving meal. 1-2-3-4!!!!!!!

The Fun Run is a one mile run that is hosted by the Rich River Athletics Club. This fantastic and free event takes place at the Rio Rico High School trackTRANSPORTATION TO RRHS WILL NOT BE PROVIDED. FAMILIES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR TRANSPORTING PARTICIPANTS TO THE RRHS TRACK BY 2:30 PM. STUDENTS SHOULD BE DRESSED IN APPROPRIATE ATHLETIC CLOTHING FOR SCHOOL THAT DAY (EX.-SHORTS, LEGGINGS, RUNNING SHOES). PLEASE PROVIDE A BOTTLE OF WATER AND A NUTRITIOUS SNACK (EX.- GRANOLA BAR, FRUIT, PRETZELS). SC STAFF WILL BE SET UP NEXT TO THE TRACK. We strongly encourage you to stay and support your child for their race. You are also invited to participate in the Role Model Mile run/walk. It is important that the students practice at home in order to prepare for this event. The first fun run will be held Friday, October 25th, 2024. It will begin at 3:10 p.m. and will end at 4:45 p.m. Only the students that turned in the permission slip on time will be allowed to participate. Please pick up your child no later than 4:45 p.m. from the Rio Rico High School track that is located next to the football field. You will be required to sign your child out when you leave. Jerseys need to be returned when students get signed out. Parents are invited to come and cheer. Este maravilloso evento gratuito se realiza en campo de atletismo de Rio Rico High School.NO HABRÁ TRANSPORTACIÓN A LA ESCUELA DE RRHS. Para poder participar, un padre/tutor tendrá que llevar a su hijo/a al campo de atletismo de Rio Rico High School a las 2:30 p.m. El personal de la escuela y los participantes van a estar localizados en la pista. Su hijo/a tendrá la oportunidad de participar en la primera carrera divertida. La carrera se llevará a cabo el viernes 25 de octubre de 2024. Comenzará a las 3:10 p.m. y terminará a las 4:45 p.m. Solo los estudiantes que entregaron la hoja de permiso a tiempo podrán participar. En el día del evento, los participantes pueden ir vestidos con ropa deportiva a la escuela. Favor de mandar a su hijo/a con una botella de agua con su nombre y una merienda saludable (granola bar, fruta, pretzels). Le pedimos que se quede y apoye a su hijo/a en su carrera. También está invitado a participar en la carrera/caminata de Role Model Mile. Es importante que los estudiantes practiquen en casa para prepararse para este evento.
