In the busy hallways of San Cayetano, nurturing kindness and empathy among students is a priority and a cornerstone of education.

Danika Teyechea, the dedicated school counselor at San Cayetano, embodies this atmosphere entirely as she promotes the importance of kindness in shaping the cheetah experience. Mrs. Teyechea has worked for the SCV35 school district for 6 years including the last 3 years at San Cayetano. She brings a great wealth of knowledge and passion to her role as a school counselor.

Mrs. Teyechea mentions the amazing growth she has seen among the students.  Her time at SC began during the aftermath of the pandemic, and the impact it had on kids' social skills was very apparent. Mrs.Teyechea emphasizes the importance of a genuine smile as the most powerful way to show kindness. "It’s amazing to see the kids who were once struggling socially and lacking communication with their feelings and needs, now advocate for themselves and play with their group of friends," she remarks.   In a world where gestures of compassion can sometimes feel rare, a simple smile can serve as a beacon of hope and solidarity, reminding students that they are valued and supported.

As San Cayetano continues to thrive under her guidance, Mrs. Teyechea's message rings clear: kindness is not just a choice; it's a powerful force that has the potential to transform lives and shape the future for generations to come. Her commitment to supporting the growth of our students deepened this year as she became a mom to a beautiful baby girl.  Mrs. Teyechea truly exemplifies the “Cheetah way” of CARING!
