
Santa Cruz Valley Unified School District #35 continues to support our students by providing them access to the Pima JTED Veterinary Science program, offering an opportunity to complete the program at no cost. This afternoon, a student made a verbal threat against Rio Rico High School. After investigation, the call was determined to be a prank. The student is being arrested by authorities, and there is currently no danger to any of our schools or students. The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority.

In Santa Cruz Valley USD35, we work together to support student success and growth. Coatimundi Middle School attended the 2025 FBLA State competition. CTE is proud to support our upcoming future hawks.

Saul Montano, a Tucson Police Officer, and Gustavo Rodriguez, a Tohono O'odham Police Officer, visited the Rio Rico High School Law and Public Safety program to inspire and motivate students to pursue careers in law enforcement. Both officers, alumni of the program—Montano from the Class of 2017 and Rodriguez from the Class of 2018—shared their experiences and insights into the profession. Their visit provided students with a firsthand perspective. SCV35 focuses on building lifelong learners!

Great learning is happening across all CTE programs! Culinary Arts students are preparing meals for a fundraiser, demonstrating both teamwork and industry readiness. JROTC cadets are sharpening their discipline and leadership through marching drills. Agriculture students are engaged in personalized learning using ICEV. Sports Medicine students are utilizing their personalized learning space to develop hands-on skills in injury prevention and rehabilitation. CTE is proud of our dedicated teachers and programs.
