Welcome to an exciting new school year! It is with great pride and enthusiasm that I welcome you to the 2026–2027 school year at San Cayetano Elementary. My name is Mrs. Vanessa Alegria-Rivas, and I am honored to serve as your principal. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to partner with our students, families, staff, and community as we embark on another year of learning, growth, and success.
With nearly 30 years in education, I have had the privilege of serving as a classroom teacher, reading specialist, instructional coach, assistant principal, college instructor, and now principal. Throughout my career, one belief has remained at the heart of everything I do: every child can learn, every child can grow, and every child deserves to feel valued, supported, and inspired.
This year, our school theme is "Level Up!" Just like in a game, each new level brings opportunities to learn, overcome challenges, and celebrate achievements. At San Cayetano, we believe every student has unique strengths and unlimited potential. Our mission is to create an environment where students are encouraged to dream big, take risks, develop confidence, and discover the joy of learning.
Our dedicated teachers and staff have been working hard to prepare for a fantastic school year. Together, we are committed to providing engaging instruction, building meaningful relationships, and creating a safe, welcoming school where every child feels a true sense of belonging.
